Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones hebben de tracks persoonlijk geselecteerd uit hun 8 studio-albums. Mijlpalen zoals Whole Lotta Love," "Immigrant Song," "Kashmir," "Rock And Roll," "Dazed And Confused," en "Stairway To Heaven." staan op Mothership. Daarnaast zal het album ook nieuwe liner notes bevatten van de bekende rockjournalist David Fricke.
